Hi ,
Is it spring yet? Is it just me or did winter seem extra-long this year? I don't like to complain, but I am ready for some fun in the sun, to spend more time out of doors. The earth is stirring and the buds ready to burst forth again. And don't you just love daffodils and crocuses? Maybe if we sing to them, we can coax them up. (Okay, my English bluebells seem to be making it up without my
help.)
My passion is connecting with nature in an expanded, deep, and ancient way. This is accessible to every one of us and has been my greatest adventure in life. When I started writing my first faery novel, I was clueless, I did not believe in faeries. (Gasp!) And then one day at dusk (a 'tween time), I began seeing the spirits of nature, the little faeries, at the border (a
'tween place) of our yard and the woods, with my husband Alan. He saw them, too. Little streaks of swirling somethings that weren't rain or bugs. Yes, they do exist. That's a good place to start if you want to connect, too. I will list some ways to connect in the Faery Corner--just check out the pink banner below. I really think the wee ones want to hear you sing!
There's more, of course, the Sidhe, the faery beings mostly maligned in our current fiction. How rude! More on the Sidhe (pronounced "shee"--Irish Gaelic) later. They figure largely in the children's novels I've written that are patiently waiting to be published.
Please have yourself an amazing spring and get out there and rejuvenate your body, feel the sun tingling your face and arms, luxuriate in the breezes that caress you, and wait for the wild animals to greet you and to bring you their messages. The world is still a wonderful place, filled with mystery and charm.
Sending you much love, rays of golden sunlight, and peace,
Cathy
