THE LILITH & THE FAERIES ROMANTIC SUSPENSE SERIES 

How the Series Began

I was taking a noncredit creative writing course through Community College and for an assignment, I wrote about a woman who was a bookstore manager who encountered a faery in her garden. The two spoke together, and the faery asked her if she would take on a mission to help the faeries, but was a little vague about the details.

We read our stories to the class, and they were so enchanted by the faery that I decided to write a novel about the fae. I had already written a novel about a woman and her guardian angel, so I was looking for a new angle. Keep in mind that I certainly did not believe that faeries were real. That would be crazy!

So before I finished the first draft of the novel, Blue Moon over Madagascar, imagine my surprise when I first saw them behind our townhouse with my husband. Ever since, I have been growing and learning more about the secrets of nature and beings that few people can perceive or access. For me, this is the greatest adventure of my life and a case where reality is even better than fiction.

WHAT ARE CULTURED FOODS?

Last month I shared about our immune systems and how our gut bacteria are oh so important. My guru on cultured foods is Donna Schwenk, who has studied and helped people for years. Cultured foods contain the good bacteria that will grow in your gut and make you healthy. They contain many more  strains of bacteria and are much more powerful than taking expensive probiotic capsules.

She recommends a trilogy of cultured foods and tells you how to make them: kefir, kombucha tea, and cultured vegetables. I make my own kefir and vegetables, but buy kombucha at the grocery. She often talks about how if you feel like you are getting the flu or food poisoning, sipping cultured pickle juice can fix you right up. This has helped me tremedously.

    GO OUTSIDE TO FIND THE REAL MAGIC

You can connect with nature more deeply, so first:

• Set an intention to connect with the faeries. Energy flows where attention goes. This part is so important.
• Go outside and RELAX into it. Do some star gazing. Lie down and watch the clouds. Immerse yourself in the moment.
• Spend time with plants, animals, and trees.
• Know that you will sense the magic in your own way. It could be an aroma, the breezes, a knowing, a feeling. It doesn't have to be by sight. And enjoy your quest.
