PLAYING WITH YOUR HOLIDAYS

Hello ,

How are you faring with the cooler temperatures and darker days (for those in the Northern hemisphere)? We have the holidays to keep us moving along, and I have to admit that I only do what I want to do. Back in the days when I navigated by doing what I "should" do, it got pretty tense.

What do you love about this time of year? I love the pretty colored lights in the neighborhoods and songs wafting their way in the stores and on the radio. I love all the positive emotions offered: peace, joy, understanding, and love.

So, enjoy your holidays, whatever you celebrate, and know that soon, right after Winter Solstice, the days will be getting longer as the light returns. It's a time now to go within and plant inner seeds for spring. Above all, celebrate in your own way; play with it and aim toward your own inner peace.

I've been thinking about hibernating this winter, but haven't figured out how to do it yet. The next best thing is to rest more and to not expect as much of myself. This time of year is a natural time to slow down and let our nervous systems do a reset, compliments of Mama Earth and her cycles.

So, listen to your thoughts and feelings, and ferret out those that aren't letting you rest and relax. Our critical minds can pressure us into going against the natural flow toward our best lives.

Congratulate yourself for your achievements, no matter how few or many, and sink into these slower days, with style and grace!

STAY IN TOUCH

For those who enjoy outdoor sports and hiking, this is not a problem. But for those of us who would prefer to huddle by the fire with a good book, it doesn't seem as easy to connect with Mama Earth and the fae.

You can actually watch outdoor videos and look at photos to connect with earth energy when the winds are blustery and the snow is pelting down. Robert Reeves, my Aussie angel teacher, advises to look at photographs of flowers to receive their energy. You can also sit with your house plants and get to know them better. Not a joke!
